The test object is stored in a special test chamber over a pre-specified test duration and is exposed to a misty atmosphere containing salt. This simulates in condensed form the exposure of the test object to salt solutions road traffic during its service life. Standard run times for salt spray tests are approximately 96 to hours. Salt mist tests are especially useful for products used on high seas or in the immediate vicinity to an ocean, as salt loads are largest in such surroundings. Salt mist tests are also used in the automotive sector, and are now part of standard testing procedures.

The equipment manufacturers should provide you with a statement indicating to which specifications their equipment complies. In SS the salt water is held to pH 6. B holds pH to range 6.

The concentration of salt in solution is approximately equivalent. These two work out to approximately equal. So the tests are quite similar with the exception of the EES variant. This info comes from pooled info from searching the internet. The info above is accurate but may not be totally inclusive, that is, I may have missed something. Anything I did miss was not easily findable on the internet. You should be able to purchase the two similar specs and run the test to either standard because you will control the chamber temperature etc..
